LuminidsAI: Solo Founder's CRI Gives Game Characters Memory

Image
In a small forest clearing inside a video game, a creature named Astra is still searching for her friend Quill. She saw him caught in a storm hours ago and hasn't seen him since. What she doesn't know is that Quill found shelter almost immediately and has been perfectly safe the entire time. The game knows this. Astra doesn't. And that gap, deliberately, is the whole point. It's a small moment inside Luminids, an Early Access colony-sim built by a solo developer in Cambridge. But it's also a working demonstration of something Nick Jacob has spent the better part of a year building: a system that lets AI-driven characters hold onto their own version of events, separate from what the game world itself knows, and separate from whichever AI model happens to be generating their dialogue. He calls it CRI, short for Contextual Relational Intelligence, and he's now raising £1.5 million to turn it into a product other studios can use.

GPT-4o vs GPT-6 Astra: Full Comparison, Pricing & Migration Guide (2026)

GPT-6 Astra vs GPT-4o: How Much Actually Changed Since OpenAI's Most-Loved Model TL;DR GPT-4o was fully retired from ChatGPT on February 13, 2026 - it only survives now in the API and in third-party apps built on it. GPT-6 Astra launched September 3, 2026, as OpenAI's current flagship. That's roughly 28 months between the two models - GPT-4o released in May 2024, meaning anyone comparing them is really asking "what did two and a half years of progress actually buy me?" GPT-4o wasn't just another model release - it had a genuine user-loyalty movement ( #Keep4o ) when OpenAI first tried retiring it in 2025, and cloud security firm Orca found it was still running inside 37.6% of AI-adopting cloud environments as of mid-2026, months after its official retirement. If you specifically want GPT-4o's tone back, it's not gone - it's just moved to the API and a handful of third-party chat apps. Reviewed by Imran Khan Pathan, Editor at AI Tech S...

Best AI Courses for Beginners in 2026: Tested, Ranked and Honest TL;DR: The best AI course for beginners right now is Andrew Ng's AI For Everyone if you have zero technical background, and fast.ai's Practical Deep Learning if you can already code. But the right pick depends on your goal - this guide breaks down all 8 options so you can choose in under 5 minutes. We evaluated each course based on curriculum depth, instructor credibility, student reviews, certificate recognition, and real-world applicability. No affiliate fluff. Just honest takes. Imran Khan Pathan, Editor: I didn't take a formal AI course to get here - I'm a Graphics Designer who taught myself AI tools since 2021, one built project at a time, until I was building real working apps with it. I know firsthand how intimidating that starting point feels, and also how fast it stops feeling that way once you actually start. This guide is written for the version of me from a few years ago. What Is Multimodal AI? The Complete Guide (Beginner to Expert)

Image
TL;DR Multimodal AI refers to AI systems that can process and reason across multiple types of data - text, images, audio, video, and more - simultaneously. Unlike traditional AI (which handles one data type at a time), multimodal models fuse inputs to build a richer, more human-like understanding. The top multimodal AI models in 2026 include GPT-4o , Gemini 2.5 Pro / Gemini 3 , and Claude 3.5/Opus 4 - each with different strengths. Real-world multimodal AI applications span healthcare diagnostics, adaptive education, business automation, and creative production. You can start using multimodal AI tools today - most are free or freemium (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot). Imran Khan Pathan, Editor: I run ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude side by side most days, and multimodal AI isn't an abstract concept for me - it's the reason every thumbnail on this blog exists. Text-to-image generation is multimodal AI in its most basic form: I type a description, the model outputs a...
